Discovered during an Imperial Navy survey of the Drusus Marches in 342.M41, the Praga system was named after Commander Theodore Praga, the Captain of the scout Frigate that originally surveyed the system. After the analysis made its way to the hands of the Missionaria in 388.M41, pilgrim ships made their way in colonizing Praga. Settling on the solitary habitable world in the system, Praga II, the colony has grown steadily despite two incursions by orks and three rebellions instigated by ++Censored++.

Praga II sits at the far reaches of the star’s habitable zone, leading to a cold world coated in snow and alien conifer forests. Snow covered mountain ranges run the length of the many continents. In the equatorial range, the temperature warms to a comfortable level and it was in this area that explorers came across the altral berry which would later give birth to an industry wholly Praga’s own.

The mountains of Praga are of hard granite, making mineral exploitation an expensive proposition and thus most minerals are imported. The exception to this is copper of which there are deposits located near the surface that are in risk of being exhausted. Exploitation of mineral deposits in the system have long thought to be a method of financial prudence but no external investment has been forthcoming in setting up such operations.

Despite the expense of importing most materials, Praga supports industrial construction for a hefty share of the sub-sector’s PDF forces along with several PDF forces throughout neighboring subsectors. While not envisioned by most as a lucrative market, the wealth has been substantial in no small part thanks to the war torn nature of the region. Ran by House Rimolin, the weapons and vehicles produced by the seventy million strong workforce can be seen in use by PDF and on occasion used against them by rebellious factions that have illegally obtained the equipment. Known for their solid wooden stocks fashioned from locally logged trees, the weapons are functional and if unaesthetic.
