A Long and Glorious Past
Prominent History:

The Bradock family has been around for more then a millennium, some scholars speculate they can be traced all the war to per-spaceflight Terra. However no matter how far back they go each member has shown the aptitude in all Naval affairs. Some were Captains, some crew or a rare few rose to great power in the Imperial Navy. However their naval tradition hasn't changed. Not one Bradock has ever set his or her foot on the ground as a trooper. When Cain was a child, his father and mother taught him the various legends and archaic knowledge that came with the Bradock linage. As it was for every Bradock since or alas their long history be lost to the Void. Sadly this comes at a price, Cain's name is easily recognized among the Imperial Navy, ex-sailors or anyone who has dealt with the Navy. Making subtly hard to come by for a man such as himself. Despite that it does help him when dealing with people, the ones who know the Bradock legend that is.

Battlefleet:

Born in the Battlefleet Corona to two naval officers, Cain was exposed early to the rigor of Void life. Growing up in the discipline of an Imperial ship of the line he was given a job of running ammo to the battery stations as soon as he could walk. It was a tough childhood but it helped shape Cain to become the imposing officer figure he is today. Growing up his family name and parents quickly gave him increasing responsibility with equally increasing complexity. Almost every position on the Underdecks he has served as, from cook to the lowly ammo runt. In true Bradock tradition, Cain never failed in a single posting. The tight knitted environment helped the young man to learn of the Imperial Navy's glorious history along with the various clans that dotted her ranks. At such a young age Cain was ingrained with faith in the Emperor to an unshakable level. Through the same environment he became well versed in every aspect of ship operation even at a basic level. To Cain, all aspects of ship life became as comfortable as the ground is to a trooper.

Brash, brave and eager to bring death to the enemies of the Imperium with the skills to back that attitude up, Cain Bradock makes one of the finest officers that any Rogue Trader could employ.

In Service to the Throne
Born to Lead:

Of course with a last name of Bradock, Cain wasn't expected to stay loading gun batteries for the rest of his life. At a very young age he was thrust into a command position. Through an iron will and a level head Cain showed that he lived up to the Bradock legend. Quickly through his skill at commanding men rather then through political maneuvers the young officer found himself on the bridge of a small frigate leading thousands of men instead of a few on the gun decks. Gaining his stripes with bold broadsides or a quick tactic shift Cain soon lived up to his last name. The Imperium was impressed with the skill shown by such a young officer. Soon his face was shown on recruiting posters across the universe. Each on showing Cain stoic against a star field pointing at the viewer with the words "We need you to shield Terra from the horrors of the Void.". Although with such fame one could become too lofty but he showed that despite his accomplishments he was no more human to his crew. Always making sure not to subjugate the lower decks Cain kept both the respect and fear of his crew. After a while he was put at the head of a Lunar Class Cruiser, Emperor's Hammer. With the new command came the honor of shielding merchants from the many enemies that lurked in the Koronus Expanse with the Battlefleet Koronus. Soon Bradock's name along with his ship's soon became a common curse utters among pirate, heretic or xeno alike.

Crusade
Call to War:

Through glorious devotion to seeing the Emperor's enemies destroyed, the Emperor's Hammer's crew earned the eye of Lord Militant Achilus. Selected for the honored position of leading a small battle squadron of cruisers in his crusade that was tasked to reclaim the Jericho Reach for the Imperium. Naturally Cain did not refuse such a honorable post. It was through the Warp Gate that his small squadron along with hundreds of thousands ships began their bloody mission. Throughout the first months of conflict Bradock's squadron along with the rest of the Crusade gained victory after victory. Cain's Koronus experience gave him invaluable insight in fighting Chaos,Tau and the other heretical beings that stood in his way. However the stunning progress begin to grind to a halt as Astropath communication became foggy, their enemies taking advantage of the confusion. Slowly the Crusade fleet was pushed back and only through steeled determination managed to stop any further slide backwards. The fog cleared allowing the fleet to regain it's efficiency but the damage was done before a new enemy was revealed. Tyranids had entered the Reach causing more damage to the weakened fleet. Having never faced these new bio ships in combat Cain met a foe that shook him to the core, losing the tactical edge he once possessed. In one engagement the Emperor's Hammer was split from the task force, forced into a corner Cain ordered her to jump. In the confusing aftermath the cruiser ended up in uncharted space, lost and without support to resupply.

Calamity:

What happened to the Lunar Class Cruiser as she fought xenos, mutiny and starvation on her way back to home space has been stricken form the official records. Sealed by the Inquisition, only the highest authority on Terra know what happened along with her crew who were bound to silence. Whatever did happen changed Cain into a cautious, devout and hardy man.

Devotion to Duty:

After a lengthy investigation Cain was charged with abandoning his post but given the circumstances he was given a light punishment. Honorable Discharge with no chance of rejoining the Imperial Navy. While most would of appreciated not getting a bolt round to the head Cain felt that it would of been more merciful then what he got. Wracked with grief over failing his family line, Bradock secluded himself to backwater bars while his wife was off with the Mechanicus Fleet. It was only after a long session spent in a chapel to the Emperor that Cain found himself a purpose to ply the stars once more. Looking up at the statue of the God Emperor the Captain realized that he has a duty to humanity and the Imperium. Through this conviction to keep serving the Emperor in whatever way possible, Cain found himself embroiled in the Rogue Trader families. An experienced voidmaster and commander Cain Bradock had much to offer to any intrepid crew heading out into the dangerous void. It was here that he found himself snapped up by the D'Autry Dynasty.

His goal is to restore his families name and honor once more to the Imperial Navy. He rarely mentions his past or why he isn't in the Imperial Navy anymore, when questioned he shrugs and simply says "Fate has her way with our lives".

The two Naval pistols that rest on his hips are Cain Bradock's trademark. Cultivated from his early command career when the story of him with his crew holding back a boarding action got leaked. From one soldier's recount, Cain was at the head with two autopistols blazing shouting hymns of the Emperor to inspire the men. According to the crew they said if it wasn't for his bravery the ship would of fallen. As soon as the PR department caught wind of his deed they contacted the young officer. Thus began his life as the Imperial Navy's poster officer. The most famous recruit poster showed him with two gleaming autopistols in their holsters, gold medals lining his immaculate naval uniform as Cain points at the viewer while being backed by a vast starfield with some battle raging in the distance.. Presently his two pistols are engraved with Emperor's Hammer. Gleaming with golden highlights, the flash from their muzzles is often the last thing a boarder sees.

Emperor's Glorious Shadow:
Stoic:

An older, ancient Mechanicus design the Emperor's Glorious Shadow is by far unique in her design if not the only example left. Fabricated during the early years if bloody conflict that followed the Horus Heresy, the design was in response for a simpler and cheaper cost cuts. Although wheeled the design did show several advantages over the tracked counterparts. She was faster going over country along with the open road though less stable. It showed several battlefield successes as a light field recon in the Imperial Guard, capable of rapid hit and run raids. At the time her tracked counterparts were slow and cumbersome in comparison to her nimbleness. Sadly this design would be soon outpaced as better engines made any advantage of speed obsolete, though she was by far more nimble. Many Guard regiments kept her in reserves but it was inevitable that the design was phased out of field service in exchange for superior newer designs.

This Chimera in question was brought from Cadian's ancient vaults of tech, it was a pain to pry her from the hands of the attending Techpriests. With several tech offering they relented and shared much of her history. Apparently a veteran of a dozen crusades, hundreds of wars and millions of battles this APC has always trundled forth to meet the foe. Almost stoic in her description of always being there for the squad that was transported by her. No matter what hit her, the Chimera seemed to unflinchingly shrugged it off. Pouring out round after round of covering fire the APC seldom faltered in spite of the odds. Earning her name after a decade of service, like the Emperor's shadow she never left his side. Inscribed along the plassteel walls are the deeds of her various crew, purity seals hang from her sides blessing the long service to the Emperor the stern machine spirit has given. Several scars mar her beauty but overall she seems almost eager to carry passengers into the fray once more, delighting as she was started up again after several decades. The engines almost purred with excitement. The machine spirits wishes are to be granted at last. Hauled onto the Liliaceae Aerie's hanger, she has taken up the post of personal transport to the command crew of the D'Autry Dynasty.
